The “Energy Efficiency at Household Buildings” Program ran in Greece from 1st January 2011 till 31th December 2015. The co-financed program concerned buildings which classified as low energy efficiency buildings and the owners met specific income-related criteria. The Program offers citizens incentives to carry out the most important interventions, aimed at improving their houses’ energy efficiency, while at the same time contributes to the achievement of Greece’s energy and environmental targets. The types of residences which were eligible for subsidy through the Program were detached houses, block of flats and independent apartments.
The program’s eligible interventions were : 1) replacement of doors/windows (frames/glazing) and installation of shading systems, 2) Installation of heat insulation on a building shell including the terrace/roof and pilotis area and 3) Upgrading of the heating and hot water supply systems.
In those 5 years where the program lasts, our firm successfully ran 28 projects in over 10 cities of Greece. We made energy inspections in buildings with total area 2.996,39 sq.m. and we issued all the relevant Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), which included proposals for the residence’s energy upgrading with the estimated initial cost 213.454,50 €. The annual primary energy savings of more energy interventions evaluated in 3.587,41 (kWh/h2) and the annual reduce CO 2 emissions in 1.076,76 (kg/m2).
